The Purpose and Mission of the Fund
The Garden Club of Gloucester and Mathews Charitable Fund was established to secure a lasting financial resource to fund community philanthropic projects going forward.
The Fund assists the club’s mission to foster a love of nature, encourage conservation of natural resources, and support community projects that preserve, restore, and beautify Gloucester and Mathews. For example, we have been sending a middle school child to Nature Camp in Vesuvius, Virginia since 1956.
Financially managed by the Community Foundation for a Greater Richmond, with disbursements approved by the club’s board, the Fund ensures professional investment and financial sustainability while ensuring a donor’s charitable intent.
